Part 4 of Platterform’s Sea Adventure Series takes the culinary crusaders full steam across the Indian Ocean to the beautiful islands of the Seychelles where they meet a heady mix of Indian, Oriental and Creole cultures brimming with lots of exciting flavours.
With most of its islands outside of the cyclone belt, it is almost as if the Seychelles were designed deliberately for all types of fishermen, offering year round fishing in over 1.4 million km² of some of the richest fishing grounds on the planet…
Handing over the catch of the day to the kitchen team, Platterform are delighted to have on board Vinn Goute Seychelles Kitchen who will take command of the galley to prepare a tropical seafood treat including two of the Seychelles most prized fish- the Bourgeois Red Snapper and the King Fish.
To complete their offering, signatures such as the Vinn Goute curried goat, Piman For chilli sauce, papaya & carrot chutney and a generous portion of saffron rice are added to the mix for a dinner bursting with flavour and spices.
Vinn Goute (Come and Taste in Kreol) have been taking London’s street food scene by storm, featuring regularly at KERB and Street Feast and winning the praise of major news publications and food writers, including the Huffington Post who voted them Best Street Food in London last summer!

3 days only- don’t miss out!
Attention all stowaway drinkers!
Platterform welcome all aboard to discover the Captain’s Bar and it's treasure trove of alcoholic concoctions, games and the occasional weather beaten Sea Dog wishing to share a tall tale or two.
Here you can pit your wits against other passengers or help judge the Captain's Cocktail Quest which sees some of the most notorious figures of oceanic world battle each other in a revival of an old Cornish Pirate tradition.
No one knows the exact origin of the Quest but references can be traced back centuries to large and sophisticated smuggling communities based in Cornwall. Following strict guidelines, entries for the Quest must undergo rigorous tests of bravery and endurance and have spent the last year scouring the Seven Seas in search of plunder and their desired ingredients. Returning with their discoveries and spoils they are ready to present their inspired cocktail creations for judgement.
Some of the cocktail entries so far include:
- Captain Nemo's 'Attack of the Kraken' spiced rum & stout punch.
- Captain Verne's 'Phileas Fog' smoked Sazerac with absinthe helium.
- Captain Darcy Jones' 'Blud & Sand' whiskey cocktail with The Foragers Wild Cherry and blood orange sand.
- Captain Zissou's 'Fish Called Wonder' life aquatic cocktail with gin, aperol, elderflower, prosecco, hibiscus anemones & mango jellyfish.

Shorts to Sea is a specially curated immersive film night that will take you from our cosy Hackney cabin to the high seas of adventure.
Humans are capable of surviving in extreme environments from arid deserts to the thin air of frosted mountain peaks, but the ocean, despite covering 71% of the earth's surface, is a life force of its own that we are unable to control or conquer. Predatory sea beasts, depths of the dark unknown, surging waves and changing tides, tales of the sea are born of myth, fantasy, fear and a spirit of adventure.
The Smalls presents 'Shorts to Sea' a series of sea-inpired short films. Sea tales to be told include the search for lost loved ones beneath the sea from the director of Beast of the Southern Wild, a short doc on the adventures of an Icelandic sailor and a Greenlandic hunter and the journey of a lone fisherman who discovers a curious matter ball in the BAFTA-nominated Matter Fisher, plus many more!
The short films will begin at around 8pm with intervals in-between for people to stock up on snacks and drinks.
Enhance your viewing pleasure with this recommended trio of 'film matched' nautical cocktails...
Shorts To Sea takes place on Wednesday 5th March 2014
